Word from the artist Rising from the Thar Desert, the mighty Golden Fort is the backdrop to the annual desert festival. It was drawing to a close. We’d seen camel racing and acrobatics, turban tying and moustache competitions. While a hot-air balloon drifted into the sky a military band waited on their bus before it lurched off into the evening.
